Search Union County Recent Arrests

Arrest records in Union County start with the office that holds them. The sheriff publishes no online booking roster. That absence means nothing on its own. People are arrested here every week without a public list appearing. Union County recent arrests can still be confirmed. Jail staff answer direct calls. Records requests, custody alerts, and the court docket each fill a gap. Court filings then show where a case stands after booking.

Finding Union County Recent Arrests

Start with the Union County Sheriff's Office. Deputies cover urban, suburban, and rural stretches of the 246-square-mile county. Union County Jail in Lake Butler handles the booking work. The official UCSO website offers no public inmate search, booking list, or arrest feed. A missing web result clears no one.

Work a narrow chain. Call the jail or Records Unit at (386) 496-2501. Ask who is in custody today. Ask for the booking record when you need a document. Request the commitment or release entry and the booking photograph as well. VINELink sends custody notifications. The Union Clerk docket tracks court events, and FDC applies after state sentencing or supervision. Release does not erase a booking record. A person may walk free while the booking entry itself stays on the books. Someone arrested in Union County can land in another county's jail. A state facility or federal custody is also possible.

When Arrests Become Visible

The UCSO victim-rights brochure walks through what happens after arrest. Steps include fingerprinting, photographing, jail booking, a referral to the State Attorney, and a first appearance within 24 hours. It promises no public posting within 24 hours. Internal processing, the judicial deadline, and public access run on three different clocks.

A fresh arrest can exist before any court index catches up. The reliable check is a call to the jail, then a specific records request. Once a case is filed, the Clerk index may give you a case number. That number is not the booking record itself. After release, a booking card survives. Custody sources may no longer list the person.

No Union County Arrest Feed

Union County has no official 24-hour feed or multi-day blotter. UCSO posts jail and records information. No page discloses posting times, refresh intervals, photo rules, weekend behavior, or roll-off dates. Arrests Last 24 Hours covers one specified day. The Police Blotter page spans several days plus historical options. Neither is a live agency feed.

Florida GS2 Item 22 describes a 24-hour commitment and release list. Ask for that statewide record by name and date, since the description alone proves no Union County screen exists.

Union County Jail Record Search

The official jail page describes a 36-bed facility at 50 NW 1st Street in Lake Butler. It holds both convicted and non-convicted people in felony and misdemeanor custody. None of that builds a public roster. It also covers automated court-paperwork reporting. Fingerprint links run to NCIC and Florida systems. Search fields, photo display, refresh cadence, and online retention all stay unpublished.

  3. Request the booking card, commitment or release entry, and photo to the extent public.

Bond, release, transfer, and first appearance can shift a person's status fast. A stale booking reference is not a current inmate record.

Union County Arrest Record Fields

A booking is the jail intake step. Under Florida GS2, the record series can include an intake form, booking card, arrest affidavit, release paperwork, and court release order. With no live Union County roster, treat these as fields to request rather than fields promised online. Exemptions and redaction still apply.

Juvenile, victim, medical, intelligence, and investigative details may be withheld or blacked out. A missing photo can mean another agency did the booking, the entry expired, or no releasable image exists.

Requesting Union County Arrest Records

The UCSO Public Records page names Captain Lyn Williams as Custodian of Public Records. Find the Records Unit at 55 West Main Street, Courthouse Room 102, Lake Butler, FL 32054. Hours run weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Call (386) 496-2501 to discuss a request.

  1. Identify the person, date range, place, deputy, agency, case number, or booking number.
  2. Ask separately for the booking card, affidavit, photo, commitment/release list, and transfer entry.
  3. Request each item only to the extent public and releasable.
  4. Ask for a cost estimate and the statutory basis for withholding.
  5. For mail, include a stamped return envelope and confirm current fees before payment.

UCSO posts no dependable booking-photo fee, so ask before ordering.

Two Union County Record Channels

UCSO keeps jail intake and law-enforcement records. The Union Clerk, in turn, keeps court filings and dispositions. The Clerk request page notes that work beyond 30 minutes may need an estimate and advance payment. Court copies cost $1 per page. Those terms set no UCSO photo fee.

An index entry and a document copy differ. The index may reveal a case number. A certified order, charging paper, or dismissal usually takes a request. For a booking card or jail image, go back to UCSO.

Union County Mugshots After Arrest

Union County mugshots are not guaranteed. The sheriff's office confirms booking and identification work, but the jail page offers no public photo roster. A targeted Chapter 119 request is the dependable route. Ask whether a releasable booking photograph exists. One image handed to a news outlet for a single event does not mean every Union County mugshot is online.

For someone sentenced to state prison or under state supervision, use the FDC offender search. FDC is not a county arrest feed. Its result may include a state photo. BOP and ICE locators do not provide routine county booking photos, and no mugshot gallery is hosted here or are arrest images rehosted.

When will a mugshot appear? UCSO publishes no timing promise. Records staff, VINE status, and the Clerk docket are separate checks, and none of them guarantees a public photo.

Where Union County Arrests Appear

Union County arrest records begin with the official sources. News sites and aggregator pages can serve as leads, but they lag behind updates and leave stale details behind.

Union County Arrest News Archive

Digitized archives of the Union County Times preserve weekly local reporting, including sampled arrest coverage. Other outlets pick selected investigations. WCJB, News4Jax, and Mainstreet Daily News are among them. None of these outlets runs a complete daily blotter, and a story can appear days late while omitting bond, booking number, release, or disposition. This Action News Jax county page is one example.

Arrest Alerts Without an App

The sheriff's office links Facebook, YouTube, and Everbridge. No booking app or recurring photo stream is listed. Everbridge is community-alert infrastructure, not a jail roster. Skip generic apps that cannot show a real Union County connection. VINE is the strongest official alert route, since the jail states it participates in V.I.N.E.S. release notification. Florida supports phone, email, text, app, and TTY routes. Fresh records can lag, and federal or immigration custody runs on separate systems.

Union County Arrest Release Alerts

Pick Florida in VINELink, match the correct person and jurisdiction, and register against the right custody record. Phone registration uses a four-digit PIN. Keep your contact details current. For anything urgent, confirm directly with the jail rather than relying on the official VINELink search alone.

Why Booking Centers in Lake Butler

The sheriff traces an original jail from about 1922, later courthouse and jail work, renovations, and today's 36-bed operation. That history explains the centralization. County booking happens in Lake Butler even when an arrest occurs near another town. It says nothing about current population. Trace three labels. The arresting agency may be UCSO, Highway Patrol, Fish and Wildlife, or another authority, and the booking place can differ from the arrest place. A transfer can change the current custodian again.

Who Makes Union County Arrests

FDLE's 2020 county and municipal report separates UCSO rows from other agencies, including a Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission Union row. That report shows the agency mix. It cannot identify who was arrested today. Its counts are not the jail population either. Start with the agency named in the incident, then pin down the booking facility. This keeps a Union County records request from going to an office that holds nothing, and it stops a city dateline from reading as a city police arrest.

Union County Arrest Warrants

Union County posts no self-service warrant search and no official most-wanted page. The UCSO warrants page still gives scale. Its civil division handles more than 1,500 warrants and writs yearly. That also covers summonses, injunctions, and court orders. That workload is not an active-warrant count. Confirm status with UCSO, the issuing court, or counsel. A docket may lag behind a sealed, new, served, cancelled, or satisfied warrant. Never approach, follow, confront, or detain someone believed wanted. Call 911 for danger, and use the sheriff's tip route for non-emergency information. Anyone worried about their own status should ask an agency, court, or lawyer.

After a Union County Arrest

A Union County arrest moves through fingerprinting, photographing, and booking. Then comes State Attorney review. The brochure says first appearance happens within 24 hours, where a judge takes up probable cause, bond, release conditions, and counsel. Arraignment comes later. Formal charges and any plea happen there. Search the Union OCRS portal for the court trail. A disposition, such as dismissal, a plea, acquittal, withheld adjudication, or conviction, is the real outcome, and release can come while a case stays open.

Arrest Records May Be Withheld

Florida Chapter 119 supports access, but exemptions apply. UCSO says exempt information may be blacked out. The Clerk notes that most juvenile records stay confidential, while Marsy's Law protects victim-location details. A missing youth record may reflect law. So may a redacted victim detail. Medical facts, confidential sources, intelligence, protected victim material, and active investigative information can also be restricted. Ask for the exemption citation and any separable public part. Never infer identity or the lack of an arrest from a missing field or photograph.

Florida Arrest Records Law

Florida Chapter 119 supplies the access baseline. Section 119.07 covers good-faith response, copy charges, redaction, and exemption explanations. It does not require a live mugshot roster or release of exempt facts.

The linked official Chapter 119 page appears in this capture.

The law supports a focused request while preserving exemptions and redaction duties.

Removing an Arrest Booking Photo

Untangle four separate jobs. Fix the record at its government source. Pursue sealing or expungement if eligible. Then ask a publisher to take down a photo, and finally deal with any stale search result that lingers after a source change. None of these steps completes another.

Florida § 901.43 bars covered commercial publishers from charging to remove an arrest booking photograph. A qualifying written request goes by registered mail to the publisher's registered agent, with enough identification and photo detail to identify the image. The law calls for removal without charge within ten calendar days and restricts republication afterward. Scope is fact-specific, though. Keep a copy of everything you send. Watch the details before mailing anything.

Sealing Union County Arrest Records

The FDLE process starts with a Certificate of Eligibility. FDLE reports about twelve weeks, with no expedited service. The certificate alone changes nothing. A petitioner must also finish the court process. A certified order has to reach every agency holding the Union County arrest record before anything actually changes. Eligibility turns on the charge, disposition, prior adjudications, earlier relief, pending petitions, juvenile status, and exclusions. The checklist includes a $75 nonrefundable FDLE payment, fingerprints, application papers, and State Attorney certification where needed; ask the Clerk about filing steps and get legal advice for disputed eligibility.

How Long Arrest Records Remain

Florida's records schedule sets minimums, not website promises. Booking Records Item 16, Commitment and Release Lists Item 22, and Inmate Records Item 53 must be kept at least one anniversary year after release. Jail Docket Books Item 61 are permanent. Arrest offender information under Item 32 remains until obsolete, superseded, or no longer useful. UCSO may hold material longer. No Union roster duration is published. For an older Union County arrest record, ask which series controls it. Ask whether it was retained, destroyed, digitized, or transferred. The newspaper archive and the Clerk docket are separate trails, not the booking file itself.

County, State, and Federal Custody

Union County Jail holds local bookings and county holds. The Clerk answers court-outcome questions. FDC covers state prison and supervision, BOP federal custody, ICE ODLS immigration detention, and VINE participating custody alerts.

Raiford Arrest or State Prison

Raiford's name creates a records trap. A nearby prison address does not prove FDC custody. A fresh arrest inside the town may be booked at Union County Jail, while a sentenced state prisoner belongs in FDC records, and another agency may hold someone elsewhere. Confirm the arresting agency, booking facility, and current custodian. Never treat every arrest as a "Raiford inmate," and never assume an FDC image is the county booking photo.

Recent Arrests by Union County City

Union County has three incorporated places. All of them share the UCSO patrol path and the Lake Butler jail, though local record limits differ.

  • Lake Butler: County seat and jail location. No separate city roster was found.
  • Worthington Springs: The clerk handles town records; UCSO holds sheriff booking records. No town blotter was found.
  • Raiford: Separate a county arrest from FDC prison custody. No municipal arrest log was found.

Population does not measure arrests. A city label does not prove which agency made the arrest or where the booking happened.
